Where to go?

If you are new to the Nintendo DS, you can find something about its hardware here. You will not only need a DS, but some additional hardware.

If you already own a DS, you will likely want to learn how to run homebrew on the DS.

If you want to write your own code, learn how to start developing.

For doing this without access to the hardware, you can try an emulator.

And once you get stuck developing, you might want to read some tutorials.
